My husband and I are going on a 12 day cruise. On the formal nights, can my husband get away with wearing Dockers dressy pants and a button down shirt ? I can't see packing a suit or a jacket or less a tuxedo. How many formal nights are on a 12 day cruise anyway ?

People who have been on a Royal Caribbean cruise?
I'm going on a spring break cruise and am not wanting to pay the outrageous price for on board alcohol. So I'm thinking of putting some in my checked luggage, not in my carry on. Is it like an airline where they only randomly check the bags and I have a low chance of getting caught or are they gonna look in each individual bag. It's been almost four years since my last cruise so I can't remember how it works. And yes, I am of legal drinking age. And a handle of smirnoff is $19.99 at the liquor store and one on board drink can cost about $8 so I'd really like any and all tips on how to accomplish this.
